Avoèl’s
checkpoints

From Mexico
to Crete
Avocado (Persea americana) is an evergreen tree, also known as the butter tree in some places of the world. The Incas, the Maya and the Olmecs used to cultivate it 5,000 years ago. During the 16th century the Spanish conquerors called it aguacate and ever since its cultivation began in the Central and South America. The commercialization of avocado came later, in the early 1900s, when the New Yorker newspaper advertised it as a delicacy. However, its popularity increased only after the 1960s, during the wave of immigration from Latin America to the United States.
Today, avocados are widely considered as the ultimate trend in healthy eating. In all its variations, it is always present in all self respecting bruncheries. In Greece, 90% of its cultivation comes from Crete (Chania and Western Rethymno).
Our
approach
Avocado is not like any other fruit. Avocado has character, discreet taste, delicate temperament, and is hard to handle. If not consumed when it "feels" ready, then the opportunity is lost forever. Oh, the timing, it has betrayed us all, once or twice. On the other hand, the benefits avocado has to offer, make all this uniqueness worth the wait.
At Avoèl, we know the peculiarities of the fruit in depth, through our years of experience. We are a small company with a big vision. Being sworn healthy foodies ourselves, through the understanding of the nutritional value of avocado, we have chosen the best homemade recipes that will accompany your every mood. Plus, our environmental awareness helped us build a green-policy company, aiming towards a healthier and purer future for our planet.
